Privacy and shopper data
What we store about shoppers, how it is protected, and when it is deleted.
What we store
For each quiz run: the answers, the email if the quiz asks for it, whether the shopper agreed to marketing, the recommended products, and whether they added to cart or ordered. If a Form page asks for a name, phone number or birthday, those answers are stored too. From orders we keep only the order number, subtotal and date. We never store addresses or payment details.
How it's protected
Shoppers' emails and answers are encrypted in our database, and everything is sent over HTTPS. We use the data only to run your quizzes, show you your results, and send it to the apps you connect. We never sell it.
How long we keep it
Quiz runs are deleted automatically 24 months after they started. Totals in Analytics (views, completions, sales) hold no personal data and are kept. When you uninstall, Shopify tells us 48 hours later and we delete your quizzes, submissions and settings. To keep submissions, export them first.
Deleting a shopper's data
When a customer asks you to erase their data through Shopify, we delete their quiz responses automatically. If you turned on Shopify customers, quiz takers are also saved as customers in your store, where Shopify's own privacy tools apply.
Consent
Shoppers are only subscribed in your email marketing app if they tick the consent checkbox on the email question. A Newsletter section or block on the results page can have its own consent checkbox that shoppers must tick before signing up. Quiz events reach Google Analytics only if the shopper allowed analytics in your store's cookie banner, and the Meta Pixel only if they allowed marketing.
Mention the quiz in your store's privacy policy. Our own privacy policy is at quizpep.com/privacy.
